Hexavalent chromium

For a long time now, Duroc has been able to offer alternatives to the usual yellow passivation finish of electrolytic zinc plating. These alternatives involve replacing the toxic hexavalent chromium-based yellow passivation with a passivation based on trivalent chromium reinforced with silicate nanoparticles.

Delta MKS 4100

Delta MKS 4100 is the name of the new zinc-flake coating that is 100% solvent-free and contains no heavy metals. With a thickness of 20 µm, Delta MKS 4100 offers up to 500 hours resistance according to the salt spray test.

It was originally developed for the treatment of brake discs for vehicles and can now be applied to a whole host of other parts.

Since the hardening of the coating occurs at room temperature there is an attractive saving in energy costs that has a favourable influence on the final cost price.

Delta MKS 4100 is currently only available for parts that can be spray-painted and is only available in silver.
